I was trying to think of a title for this post, and then just now a line a the theme song from one of my favorite sit-coms, “Martin,” popped into my head, so there you go. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
But anyway, it\u2019s been a long time since I\u2019ve posted because I simply haven\u2019t had the motivation to write. If I\u2019m honest, I barely have it now. But I do<\/em> want to start being more consistent with this blog. I have a lot to say, so here I am again, giving it another try. Plus, like the rest of America, and most of the world for that matter, I\u2019m quarantined. And also like so many others, I\u2019m out of work until further notice due to the coronavirus. So, with nothing to do all day, and nowhere to go, there\u2019s no better time to begin again than the present\u2026then again, that\u2019s always the case\u2026 well maybe usually the case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I\u2019m starting a new series called I Hate Talking About Race But\u2026, because I do hate talking about race, but I have a lot to say on the subject. Talking about race can be so incendiary and painful that it\u2019s hard to touch on it, but at the same time it\u2019s so necessary that it\u2019s hard not to. So anyway, I will be going there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Of course, I will also be talking about my pursuit of a writing career. Like, I live for the day that I get paid for doing this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I\u2019m still working on the same screenplay I previously mentioned; I really need to finish that soon. Then I have another one waiting in the wings of my mind. I also have a book on deck that I need to get to too. And me blog, yeah (that was a bad attempt at an accent that I\u2019m not really sure of, perhaps Irish?)<\/p>\n\n\n\n I recently bought a new laptop with my tax return. Before that I was working off and old broken-down laptop with a busted screen. No really, I had to hook it up to a monitor from an old desktop I used to have \u2013 wait, used to have? I still have it. Anyway, it was so archaic in technology years (the laptop from like 2010, and the monitor the early aughts) that I was too afraid to hook it up to the internet. So, I just used it for typing instead\u2026and playing games like spider solitaire and mahjong. When I needed to post, I used my mother or my sister\u2019s computers, but now I have my own \u2013 praise Jesus, that feels nice!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Now that I\u2019m quarantined, I\u2019m going to attempt to post every day. I know that\u2019s a tall order for me, even when I\u2019m home all day, but my issue has never been one of time. I\u2019ve always had time. My issue has been one of faith and motivation: faith that I could effectively get my point across, and the motivation to even attempt to do so. Often times I don\u2019t have either. Right now, I have a bit of both.<\/p>\n\n\n\n So, come go with me. Let\u2019s see\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n P.S.<\/p>\n\n\n\n By the way does anyone even use P.S anymore? Do millennials and gen Zs even know what that means?
