I\u2019m also going to stop off in Sacramento and Fairfield. The latter because it\u2019s my state\u2019s capital. I\u2019ve been to the nation\u2019s capital like five or six times, but I\u2019ve never been to the capital of my own state. I\u2019m 43, it\u2019s time I go. Then I\u2019m going to go to Fairfield, because the Jelly Belly factory is there, and I love Jelly Bellies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was trying to decide if I should fly or drive. I like to drive long distances. I find it very relaxing, but I\u2019m talking like two-hour long distances, not eight, and San Francisco is a long ways away.  If I drive I was thinking that maybe I can take a straight shot up the 5 freeway. I hear you can get there in about five hours doing that. Then I would kinda meander back down the coast taking PCH. Like maybe I\u2019ll drive to San Luis Obispo, stay over night, then finish the drive back home from there.  I haven\u2019t solidified my plans. I haven\u2019t secured a hotel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m wondering if I should book an AirBnB instead \u2013 like a cute little apartment and a cute neighborhood, and pretend like I\u2019m not just passing through, but that I live there. Though I must admit, I don\u2019t really trust AirBnBs and I\u2019ve heard so much about all these rules they have, I might just deal with the familiarity and convenience of a hotel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There\u2019s restaurants I want to hit up, one being Brown Sugar Kitchen which I\u2019ve been trying to get to for over a decade \u2013 it\u2019s in Oakland, at least the last I checked (This just in: I stopped to look up Brown Sugar Kitchen only to find out that it\u2019s now closed<\/a>. A lesson in what happens when you wait too long to do something you want. Opportunities are not always going to be there. You have to take them while you can.).<\/strong> And of course I want to see the Golden Gate Bridge, maybe take a trip over to Alcatraz. Then there is an ice cream shop I want to visit (garden creamery) because I\u2019m an ice cream girl, and a cupcake shop too because cupcakes are my thing. Oh and Fisherman\u2019s Wharf, because how could I not? And yeah that\u2019s pretty much it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My car is equipped for satellite radio, but I currently don\u2019t have it, but I would get it for this trip. There is nothing worse then when you get out of range and I can no longer get my LA stations, and I have to search for other ones. I also have CDs and my car, being that it\u2019s a 2009, has a cd player.  Just writing about this now I\u2019m getting excited. But that is a long drive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 I remember back in the day when I was still in college, this girl who was a graduate student (I was undergrad) said she drove here from the East Coast by herself. I can\u2019t even imagine\u2014not by myself at least. I remember her saying that she never let her gas tank go pass half full because she never knew when she would hit a stretch of road where there were no exits for literally miles. So that\u2019s something I would follow \u2013 when my tank gets half way to empty, I need to start looking for gas station exits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I wanted to go to London instead\u2026well, actually in addition to, but I have to be smart with my money, so SF is my best bet for now. Who knows what the future may bring, but I\u2019ll keep you posted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
