And believe me I\u2019m not trying to be, but here\u2019s another day, another fired story delay. I don\u2019t know what to say. It\u2019s funny, because when I had that 9-5, I was very disciplined. I kept a really good schedule. I wrote some stuff down, put some stuff on my calendar, but most of it was in my head \u2013 and I got shit done. Often times hitting deadlines at the last minute, but hitting them nonetheless. But for some reason it\u2019s so much harder to keep that same energy for myself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There\u2019s this verse in the Bible, Proverbs, that says, Look at that ant you sluggard. He has no overseer and yet he gathers his food in the summer and eats in the winter. Okay, I totally butchered that verse, but you get the point. If not, here it is: the ant is accountable to no one but itself. It doesn\u2019t have a boss or an overseer. The ant just knows it has to get shit done, because if it doesn\u2019t get shit done it won\u2019t have anything. It is not motivated by being accountable to someone else, it\u2019s motivated by self-preservation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So yeah, that\u2019s the lesson that I\u2019m always trying to learn. And it seems for me, it\u2019s situations like this that\u2019s the best way to learn it: when I don\u2019t have a job, and I don\u2019t know what\u2019s next and my life is in my hands\u2026mines and God\u2019s of course. But it\u2019s like His are tied until I do something. So what am I going to do?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Well, I know what I want to do, and maybe part of what I need to do is go easy on myself, because there is a world of judgment out there and I can\u2019t contribute to it. I\u2019m just going to take it slow, take it easy, and have fun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking of fun, I\u2019m headed out to a comedy club right now. Oh wait, by the time this will be posted, I\u2019ll be done.
