The 4 Components to My Holistic Approach to Beauty No.4:Prayer

It’s funny, it was this morning during my prayer time when it dawned on me that I didn’t post the 4th and final component to my holistic approach to beauty.

They say prayer changes things –true. But who knew prayer could also remind you when you have things left undone. Oops – my bad!

But I’m here now, and now you know that my 4th and final component is prayer.

I’m not talking about praying to God to make you the fairest of them all—though I guess, if you want to, that’s cool too. That’s between you and God.  I’m talking about prayer in general, it enhances your countenance. I remember this one time, I was praying for a while before I went to my Bible study, then when I got there I was told I was glowing.

Now, before you even go there, I know what some of you are thinking. You’re thinking it was all that shea butter I rubbed on my face. But I’ll have you know, it had already absorbed by then.  I was glowing from within thank you very much.

I’m one of those people who believes in the mind, body, spirit connection. And I believe that things like prayer can change your appearance on a metaphysical level that manifest itself in a way that other people can see in feel.

How to tap into this beauty secret you ask? Just pray. Pray for yourself, pray for others. And by pray I simply mean take some time to talk to God, tell Him what you want. Seek His face, and perhaps you’ll see a difference in yours.

Who doesn’t love a natural glow?

Well that’s all for my 4 components to my holistic approach to beauty. Hope you enjoyed them!

I’m still talkin’ (writing) beauty all month long, so be sure to check back on Wednesday for the latest post.

Until then.

Hello! Welcome to Shirscribe! I know my face doesn't look so welcoming in this photo, it's just that I did those braids myself and I actually like this pic. But I am really happy you're here, so come on in, have a look around, read a post or 50, comment if you'd like and come back soon!

Introducing My Writing Practice!

You know, writing rarely comes easy for me. Most of the time I mull over it forever, then edit it and edit it,  only for it to still be filled with errors, or just not be quite right.

Part of the problem is I’m reaching for that old unattainable perfection. The other part is I need to read and write more.

So this is me, writing more.

In this series, I’m giving myself two hours to write about a topic of my choice nonstop, and 30 minutes to edit it before I post it here, just as it is.  The great sentences and the incoherent ones with spelling and grammatical errors too.  I’m just going to write and see what it will be.

I’ll be posting these writing practices once a week. I’m not sure which day, and maybe no particular day, just one time a week, with no end date as of now.

I can be so insecure about my writing, so I think this will be helpful.

Here’s to writing and getting better at it!

Thanks for reading!

There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells. — Psalm 46:4

Lord, let me be that river.
