This is going to be quick: Remember how I said I was going to query editors this week? Well, didn’t do it. I was going over track changes corrections, and turns out it took longer than I expected to go through all of them. I’m currently on page 28 and my story is 49 pages long so far. Though I do anticipate it will get shorter as I go through and accept the changes.
But anyway, that’s where I am with that right now. I must admit, I’m both excited and apprehensive about turning my story over to an editor: I’m excited to see what they think and scared about how much they are going to mark it up. But it’s fine, I can take it.
In other news, I got my first job rejection letter in my email this week. One thing I can say, at least it was a pretty quick turnaround. I got the rejection about three after I applied. What can I say, gotta appreciate their timeliness. It wasn’t a dream job, but it was a job I really wouldn’t have minded having…or so I think, because you never know what it’s really like until you get on it. But yeah, the job was close to him, plus remote, with interesting work and decent pay, more than I previously made. But alas, it’s not mine and will not be — just means it wasn’t for me.
Anyway, onward with the job search and onward with editing.
This is really a fine time to be in search for a job. The market is not very good righ now. But hey, I said I wanted a problem to solve, and I got one. I’m up for the challenge.
This week I’m contacting editors for sure.
