It’s Wednesday, which means it’s time for my roundup where I gather several posts in social media that caught my eye this week. And since I’m typing this up at the last minute as usual, let’s just jump right into it, shall we.
First up…
So earlier this week, Barbara Streisand took to Instagram and asked Melissa McCarthy did she take Ozempic. Babs ended up getting backlash and had to breakdown what she was babbling about (I was just trying to use a bunch of Bs there). She said some bullshit about not realizing the world was watching, but to me it was giving real jealous energy. I mean some people hate to see fat people win. I mean whether you stay fat or lose weight or stay fat if you’ve ever been fat for an extended period of time as an adult. I mean if people have seen you and known you as fat, and then you go do something they don’t expect you to do like lose weight or date a hot guy, then they big mad and want to try to take your self-esteem down. But you know, who can really tell when you have a subtle insult like this, a micro-aggressive insult? It makes you wonder are you insulted because of your insecurity, your sensitivity about your weight or is the bih, I mean legend really out of line? And the best way to handle that is to do exactly what Melissa McCarthy did here — ignore the possible insult and take it for the complement (hope I’m spelling that right, don’t have time to look up) ambiguous comments like this often are. Because at the end of the day, it’s no one’s business…but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t want to know.
I love this story. I am a firm believer in miracles. One of my favorite songs is “Little Miracles” by Luther Vandross. I don’t know if that’s the exact title, but you can find it with that. Even though I would consider this a story of a big miracle, I think it’s a good practice to look for the miracles in our lives that happen everyday.
I love when you can get a lesson out of the most mundane and practical things in life.
I just love this.
And of course…food. I have to try this.
Welp, that’s it for this week. Phew, I made it before midnight.
Until next time…
