Wednesday Roundup: Wassup! Wassup! Wassuuuupp!

Hello everyone! I know I been gone for a minute, but life been lifin’, you know how that be. Why and I speaking (writing) with so much slang? I guess because it’s fun, but anyway. Today I’m back with another Wednesday Roundup, and guess what else? Starting Sunday, October 1st, I’m going to be coming at you with a post a day for the entire month of October. You read that right — one post every single day!….at least that’s the plan, cuz you know how I be doin’. Get ready to get inundated, but for now enjoy this Wednesday Roundup. See you Sunday! By the way, I know this is posted on a Thursday — tried to post it on Wednesday and it didn’t work. There should also be five Insta posts below, but in the preview I’m only seeing two, so hopefully I can get that fixed by next week!

Surprisingly, I think I’ve only posted one food entry in these Wednesday Roundups — expect to see a change in that going forward. This is the perfect post to bring it back to one my favorite subjects: food. Not only that, but this dish gets extra points for long like something I can actually make.

Hello! Welcome to Shirscribe! I know my face doesn't look so welcoming in this photo, it's just that I did those braids myself and I actually like this pic. But I am really happy you're here, so come on in, have a look around, read a post or 50, comment if you'd like and come back soon!

Introducing My Writing Practice!

You know, writing rarely comes easy for me. Most of the time I mull over it forever, then edit it and edit it,  only for it to still be filled with errors, or just not be quite right.

Part of the problem is I’m reaching for that old unattainable perfection. The other part is I need to read and write more.

So this is me, writing more.

In this series, I’m giving myself two hours to write about a topic of my choice nonstop, and 30 minutes to edit it before I post it here, just as it is.  The great sentences and the incoherent ones with spelling and grammatical errors too.  I’m just going to write and see what it will be.

I’ll be posting these writing practices once a week. I’m not sure which day, and maybe no particular day, just one time a week, with no end date as of now.

I can be so insecure about my writing, so I think this will be helpful.

Here’s to writing and getting better at it!

Thanks for reading!

There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells. — Psalm 46:4

Lord, let me be that river.
