Wednesday Roundup: Inspiration, Motivation

It’s Wednesday, which means it’s time for my roundup! I have to admit, today was not the best day for me, and, so, as one does…or at least as this one does, I turned to food. I had three pieces…

Practicing Trusting Myself

So November is supposed to be human interest month here at Shirscribe, and I’m a human that I’m interested in, so I guess this post applies.  Navigating this thing called life can get crazy. Options are a blessing and a…

I Wrote a Little Prayer for You

I’ve been seeing a lot of people recently on Twitter and Instagram asking for prayer, which I find wonderful and weird at the same damn time. I guess that’s because I’ve never thought to ask random strangers to pray for…

What if it Goes Right?

One of the major things that stops me from giving myself fully to my dreams and my goals can be summed up by my fear of the answer to the question: “What if it goes wrong?”  The fear of the…

Hello! Welcome to Shirscribe! I know my face doesn't look so welcoming in this photo, it's just that I did those braids myself and I actually like this pic. But I am really happy you're here, so come on in, have a look around, read a post or 50, comment if you'd like and come back soon!

Introducing My Writing Practice!

You know, writing rarely comes easy for me. Most of the time I mull over it forever, then edit it and edit it,  only for it to still be filled with errors, or just not be quite right.

Part of the problem is I’m reaching for that old unattainable perfection. The other part is I need to read and write more.

So this is me, writing more.

In this series, I’m giving myself two hours to write about a topic of my choice nonstop, and 30 minutes to edit it before I post it here, just as it is.  The great sentences and the incoherent ones with spelling and grammatical errors too.  I’m just going to write and see what it will be.

I’ll be posting these writing practices once a week. I’m not sure which day, and maybe no particular day, just one time a week, with no end date as of now.

I can be so insecure about my writing, so I think this will be helpful.

Here’s to writing and getting better at it!

Thanks for reading!
