Story Time: Choosing a San Francisco Hotel

So I went to San Francisco and I’m back. Gosh, I learned so many lessons on that trip, leading up to that trip even, I could write a thousand posts about it. Okay, of course I’m exaggerating, but you get…

The Perils of Planning a Trip: Perfectionism

This weekend, my major focus was on my San Francisco trip. Planning a trip is so much work. It’s fun work, but it can also be frustrating work because I have to do so much research beforehand to ensure I…

I’m planning a solo trip to San Francisco

I’m also going to stop off in Sacramento and Fairfield. The latter because it’s my state’s capital. I’ve been to the nation’s capital like five or six times, but I’ve never been to the capital of my own state. I’m…

Hello! Welcome to Shirscribe! I know my face doesn't look so welcoming in this photo, it's just that I did those braids myself and I actually like this pic. But I am really happy you're here, so come on in, have a look around, read a post or 50, comment if you'd like and come back soon!

Introducing My Writing Practice!

You know, writing rarely comes easy for me. Most of the time I mull over it forever, then edit it and edit it,  only for it to still be filled with errors, or just not be quite right.

Part of the problem is I’m reaching for that old unattainable perfection. The other part is I need to read and write more.

So this is me, writing more.

In this series, I’m giving myself two hours to write about a topic of my choice nonstop, and 30 minutes to edit it before I post it here, just as it is.  The great sentences and the incoherent ones with spelling and grammatical errors too.  I’m just going to write and see what it will be.

I’ll be posting these writing practices once a week. I’m not sure which day, and maybe no particular day, just one time a week, with no end date as of now.

I can be so insecure about my writing, so I think this will be helpful.

Here’s to writing and getting better at it!

Thanks for reading!
