I’ve been seeing a lot of people recently on Twitter and Instagram asking for prayer, which I find wonderful and weird at the same damn time. I guess that’s because I’ve never thought to ask random strangers to pray for me, so in that aspect, I think it’s weird.
However, I love praying for people, so in that aspect I think it’s wonderful. I also think it’s wonderful that people can get so vulnerable to request prayer from a stranger if they need it. And I love the fact that people want to turn to prayer for help, the faith they have in prayer, however great or small it is.
It’s just a reminder that no matter what image someone projects, or what you think their life is like, everybody’s going through something. There are demons assigned to all of us trying to take us out, trying to make us hate, trying to make us doubt…
But God.
In Ephesians 6:12 the Bible says, “ For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
And to me that just means that there is some shit out there that you can’t get away from, cause this shit is coming at you on a spiritual level, an unseen level. I think that’s part of the reason why the quarantine was so hard for some people, because they couldn’t distract themselves with other people’s company. They were forced to confront their demons.
One of the best ways I deal with that is through prayer.
So I just want to take this time to pray for you.
I want to pray for hurting people, happy people. People who feel lost and confused. People who are losing hope and people who are still holding on. I just want you to know the Lord loves you. I call Him, Jesus, but whatever you call Him, I believe that there is only one God.
So right now, I just want to go before the Lord on your behalf, and hell, while I’m at it, mine too.
Let’s pray…
Our Father, which art in heaven, hollowed be Thy Name…just kidding, that’s the Lord’s prayer (Matthew 6:9 – 13), which is awesome, but I want to speak from the heart, so here goes…
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for another day. Thank you for Your numerous blessings, too many to name, in fact more than we even know. Thank you for this platform and the people who are reading here. Even though I don’t know who they are, Lord, You know who they are, and You love them.
Thank you for their talents and strengths, and help them to learn from their weaknesses. Dear Lord, please guide them as they go through life, in the scary times, in the uncertain times, in times of fear and also in the times of faith. In the times of companionship and also in the times of loneliness, may you be a comfort to them. Please be their support. Please show them Your love like only you can.
Lord God I come against self-doubt, I come against fear, I come against any and everything that is not like You. Please help them to see themselves as you see them. Help them know that they are never alone. May they also feel Your love through others and through themselves.
I pray for healing and health for them: mentally, physically, emotionally and any way they need it, oh financially, thank you, Jesus. Help them to get that bag according to however much they need to fulfill their life’s purpose. I pray for confidence in themselves. Please show them how to love themselves and love others. Please give them the wisdom they need to handle whatever comes their way, the good and the bad, for in Your Word You said that all things work together for good to those who love the Lord (Romans 8:28).
And so Lord, as these folks pursue their dreams, pursue their goals, pursue their life’s purpose and go about their daily living, help them to know that they have the power of Almighty God working in them. I pray that they forgive themselves for their past wrongs and press on to the blessings of the future, take each day at a time, and be intentional about finding the blessing in each day. Help them not to take their good times for granted, nor magnify their troubles.
And may they find it within themselves to be a blessing to others. Please show them how they can be a blessing to others. Please let them know that somebody needs them, needs their gifts, needs their talents, needs their smile, needs their hello. Please help them to see how valuable they are to this world, and pass it on.
Thank you for your forgiveness, Lord. Thank you, Lord that no matter how many times we’ve done wrong, there is always another opportunity in You. Thank you for your love Jesus.
Thank you, Lord. I love You.
Amen.
Welp, that was my prayer for you. Not even going to front and act like I pray for ya’ll all the time ‘cause I don’t. But recently someone asked for prayer on Instagram, and I thought surely they can’t be alone.
I think I’m going to start praying for you guys on a regular basis, probably after every post. I’m also trying to start a routine of praying before I post – praying that my posts are pleasing to God and in some way beneficial to you.
So you pray for me I’ll pray for you, cool? Wait, did I just ask strangers to pray for me? I guess so.
Until next time guys, whoever you are, whatever you’re going through, be encouraged, I’m pulling for you…God is good…
