3 Days in San Francisco: The Visuals

People walk and bike the Golden Gate Bridge. I entered on a tour bus. I love this image because it has this sign that shows as much as it is a landmark it’s a regular thoroughfare in the city.

It may have taken me a minute, but I finally got out the story behind my three-day trip to San Francisco.

You can read everything from the preparation and planning beforehand, to my actual experience in the city by the bay beginning here.

Instead of going back and adding pictures to those stories, I decided to compile the photos below. I’m not sure when folks started calling pcitures and videos visuals but if it works for the Beyhive, it works for me.

Here’s my 3 days in San Francisco: the visuals.

Day 1

Ice cream from Garden Creamery: Black sesame on the bottom, I forgot what was in the top, but both were delicious and paired well together. It was so good in fact that I came back on my last night in San Francisco and got the exact same thing.
Took advantage of that $25 food credit that came with my room every day. I had them do a cucumber lemonade instead of lavender and the fries were garlic. When I checked I noticed that they even included the tip in the room credit — score!
The night view from my hotel room. That’s the Salesforce Tower with that pretty blue top — how cool? If you don’t understand what I’m saying, not to worry, I can barely tell either.

Day 2

One of the main places I wanted to visit while in San Francisco was Arsicault Bakery — it did not disappoint. They charged me 50 cents for that bag.
I bought two croissants: chocolate almond and regular almond. Both were delicious, but I’m not a big fan of chocolate, and that one was a bit decadent for me. The regular almond one is where it’s at — it was so freakin’ good. LEFT: chocolate almond & almond croissants in a bag. RIGHT: almond croissant.
LEFT: Inside the Alcatraz cellhouse. MIDDLE: A demonstration, inside one of the cells at Alcatraz of the dummy that was used by escapees to throw off guards that he had left. In the lower left corner, under the sink, you can see the hole that was dug in the wall to make the exit — not sure if that’s the actual hole or just a replica. RIGHT: The water tower on the island.
Just some things I came across walking around the island. This is me trying to get my artistic photo-taking skills on — like photos you’d want to hang on your wall. Though I’m not sure many people would want to hang photos of a notorious prison on their wall.
LEFT: Me leaving Alcatraz on the ferry. RIGHT: The Golden Gate Bridge in the distance from the Alcatraz ferry. It didn’t look that impressive from this vantage point.
I ended the day with clam chowder in a bread bowl in Fisherman’s Wharf…or was that Pier 39? I don’t know.

Day 3

On top of this sliver structure is a green park and below are shops and like a train and bus depot. I had to walk pass here on my way to the hop-on hop-off bus tour, so I took a quick look around.
LEFT: This Chinese food, while it may look delectable, was not very good. Honestly, Panda Express is better. RIGHT: While the Golden Gate Bridge didn’t look like much from the Alcatraz ferry, crossing it, and hearing about it’s engineering on the hop-on hop-off tour helped me better appreciate it’s marvel.

Later I went to Concord, about 30 minutes or so away from San Franciso to return clothes at the outlet there. I also did my laundry then stopped off at this restaurant called Lita on my way back. I had curry chicken empanadas, plantains and rice and peas(not pictured). Oh, and a drink called the coco-naut, which I thought was a mocktail, but the picture below tells you I should have known better.

The bartender goes, “you’ll want to get your camera out,” then does this.
One last look at my SF city view before heading home, the next morning.

Hello! Welcome to Shirscribe! I know my face doesn't look so welcoming in this photo, it's just that I did those braids myself and I actually like this pic. But I am really happy you're here, so come on in, have a look around, read a post or 50, comment if you'd like and come back soon!

Coming Up Next…

I’ll announce a schedule soon!

Thanks for reading!

There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells. — Psalm 46:4

Lord, let me be that river.
