So this weeks’ posts are supposed to be all about creating life outside of your work and a career. I think so often we define ourselves by what we do, be it a writer, a doctor a teacher, server, especially when we get that infamous question, “what do you do?” But I think as important as it is to create a career that you love, it’s equally as important to have a life outside of your career. So this week I want to talk about some of the things outside of a career that makes life fun. All though I must admit, since I’ve gotten behind in my schedule some career stuff may pop up as well.
This week, I’m looking to talk about food, establishing a routine, bringing back a Movie Scenes I Love post, faith and Bible study, and maybe trying something new.
Speaking of trying something new, It’s 11: 10pm and I just got back from a screening (that was follow by a reception, you know I love free food) of the Apple+ movie Flora and Son. It’s a foreign film, and Irish film and I haven’t watched many foreign films. If I weren’t invited to this free screening not only would I have probably never heard of this movie, but I’m sure I definitely would have never seen it. But now that I’ve seen it, I’m happy I did. It was a cute movie. And I know I said that this week I’m going to talk about establishing a routine, but what seeing a film that I normally wouldn’t see has taught me is that deviating from a routine is good as well.
So yeah, here are some of the things that I plan to do this week:
- Do another edit of my short story
- Choose five editors from the list I found and reach out to them all
- Exercise at least 5 times this week.
- Establish a routine that includes room to go off the beaten path
- And, we’ll see.
