My Seattle Trip is in the Books

Just got back from Seattle. It was a nice trip overall. I didn’t get to do everything that I wanted to do, but that’s always the case. I ate some good food, some disappointing food. I did some touristy things like visit the Space Needle, and some not so touristy things like shop at Target two days in a row.

We stayed in Bellevue instead of Seattle because it was cheaper that way. And by we I mean me and my mother, because it was cheaper for me that way. I must say, I really did like Bellevue, it was like the perfect type of place I like to stay now if I have a car. If I don’t have a car, give me something that’s walkable, but if I do have a car, give me a shopping center with a lot of choices of places to eat, and a Target and a TJ Maxx nearby and I’m happy. And too, Bellevue was more suburban than Seattle (at least the part that I saw of both cities). You could actually find parking…there were, get this free parking lots. To be fair, I did park for free at a Pike Place Market parking structure on a Sunday in Seattle, but that’s it. Oh, and that time when I decided to be a rebel and parked across the street from Dahlia’s Bakery to get an overpriced slice of pie. I wasn’t sure if I could park there or not, but I did. I was in and out of there quick – no ticket.

Speaking of Pike Place Market, that reminds me, I didn’t even get a chance to see them toss the fish. I didn’t even think of that when I was there. Oh well, that’ll be for the next time. I’ll definitely return, perhaps in the summer, perhaps in the spring. Just a time when the sun is not so tucked away. But I guess that’s the price you pay to see the changing autumn leaves, you pay in gray.

I was hoping and praying for some sun, and funny enough it would come out in the afternoons around 4pm, just peaking through the clouds ever so gently – not enough to make it warm, not enough to take away the gray, just enough to let you know it was there. But mostly the days were gloomy with slight drizzles of rain, nothing major.

I was happy to see the fall colors of the leaves. There was even this one park where they had a whole row of orange leaves – pretty cool.

My outfits game that I practically agonized over before the trip was an epic fail as was my hair – my hair even more so that my outfits. But what I lacked in style I made up for in comfort, so I won’t complain.

Now all that’s left for me to do is see how much damage I did. I sort of had a daily budget and I never went over my limit. I paid it all with a credit card to get the points. But now it’s time to fork over the cash, and I’m just wondering what I’m going to think after I see the total.

I’ma just put it out there and say I will be pleased.

Got on the scale as soon as I got home and discovered that I gain liked four or five pounds. This same thing happened to me when I returned from the Bahamas and Toronto. I didn’t realize I was eating that much, or maybe it’s because I was eating unhealthy food. Who knows. But whatever the case may be, now I have to get serious about eating healthy. I need to detox -no fast food, no process sugar.

Anyway, for now, I think that’s it for trips for me until I get more money. No matter how you slice it, traveling is expensive.

It may be a while, but I can’t help but think about where I want to go next.

There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells. — Psalm 46:4

Lord, let me be that river.
