Wednesday Roundup: It’s a Wonderful Life

Wassup! Wassup! Wassuupp! I love using that Martin Show opening. It’s Wednesday ya’ll so you know what that means — that’s right another Wednesday where I’m racing against the clock to get 5 posts that caught my eye this week up before the clock strikes midnight and this Wednesday turns into a Thursday. I’m cutting it close ya’ll, we’ll see. But anyway, I had so many great posts to choose from this week that I couldn’t settle on 5, which means you’ll see a bonus post at the bottom that I think really sums up today’s title. So, if you’re wondering why I chose It’s a Wonderful Life as a title, make sure you keep scrolling all the way down to the bottom.

Now without further adieu, enjoy this weeks selections…

Speaking of being at home, sitting up in my room, I have gained so much weight. I’m currently at my heaviest, like a-few-pounds-bigger-than-my-pandemic-weight weight. This recipe, sans the shrimp, looks like the perfect concoction to help ya girl drop some LBs.

Say what you want about jobseekers, but as I’m looking for jobs I see that potential employers be doing this too. They be like serve on cross-functional teams blah, blah, blah, which means you’ll be having unnecessary weekly meetings with several people from different departments. This may not be the best example, I can’t write corporate speak on the fly, but you get the point. We be puttin’ shit like that in the resume because employers be puttin’ shit like that in the job description.

If I don’t know nothing else, one thing I know fo sho, I say one thing I know fo sho, God is good. Thank you, Jesus!

Welp, that is it for this week and as you can see but the date stamp on this post, I didn’t make it before the clock struck midnight…but I made it.

See you next week!

Hello! Welcome to Shirscribe! I know my face doesn't look so welcoming in this photo, it's just that I did those braids myself and I actually like this pic. But I am really happy you're here, so come on in, have a look around, read a post or 50, comment if you'd like and come back soon!

Introducing My Writing Practice!

You know, writing rarely comes easy for me. Most of the time I mull over it forever, then edit it and edit it,  only for it to still be filled with errors, or just not be quite right.

Part of the problem is I’m reaching for that old unattainable perfection. The other part is I need to read and write more.

So this is me, writing more.

In this series, I’m giving myself two hours to write about a topic of my choice nonstop, and 30 minutes to edit it before I post it here, just as it is.  The great sentences and the incoherent ones with spelling and grammatical errors too.  I’m just going to write and see what it will be.

I’ll be posting these writing practices once a week. I’m not sure which day, and maybe no particular day, just one time a week, with no end date as of now.

I can be so insecure about my writing, so I think this will be helpful.

Here’s to writing and getting better at it!

Thanks for reading!

Lord, let me be that river.
