Wednesday Roundup: An Epiphany

Hello Shirscribers, hmmm. Okay I promise to possibly never say that again. I say possibly because you never know, but I don’t like it. Anywho, welcome to another Wednesday Roundup, where I gather five posts on social media (and by social media I usually just mean Instagram) that caught my attention this week. Just giving you a little information and inspiration fo yo week. That sounded so 1970s. Of course that is the decade that I was been, so there’s that. And without further ado, here we go…

I love pistachio anything really, and especially pistachio ice cream. When I lived in New York, there was a bakery right at my train stop for one of my jobs that sold pistachio cupcakes. It was a vanilla cake with pistachio buttercream and it was delicious. Recently, I discovered a place not too far from me on, where else, Instagram that sells pistachio croissants — I’ll have to try one. Now I must admit, I’m a bit leerier of this concoction than the aforementioned treats. Right now, I pretty much have all the ingredients except the pistachios (I accidentally picked up regular yogurt instead of Greek yogurt).

Hello! Welcome to Shirscribe! I know my face doesn't look so welcoming in this photo, it's just that I did those braids myself and I actually like this pic. But I am really happy you're here, so come on in, have a look around, read a post or 50, comment if you'd like and come back soon!

Introducing My Writing Practice!

You know, writing rarely comes easy for me. Most of the time I mull over it forever, then edit it and edit it,  only for it to still be filled with errors, or just not be quite right.

Part of the problem is I’m reaching for that old unattainable perfection. The other part is I need to read and write more.

So this is me, writing more.

In this series, I’m giving myself two hours to write about a topic of my choice nonstop, and 30 minutes to edit it before I post it here, just as it is.  The great sentences and the incoherent ones with spelling and grammatical errors too.  I’m just going to write and see what it will be.

I’ll be posting these writing practices once a week. I’m not sure which day, and maybe no particular day, just one time a week, with no end date as of now.

I can be so insecure about my writing, so I think this will be helpful.

Here’s to writing and getting better at it!

Thanks for reading!

There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells. — Psalm 46:4

Lord, let me be that river.
