So I missed last Sunday, and I don’t even want to talk about it. I was going to write a post on Sunday saying there will be no post, like I usually do, but then I wasn’t even up to that. Just felt it seemed a bit obnoxious, if that’s even the right word, and I don’t want to look it up I’ma go with it. Anyway, I have two Instagram posts that piqued my interest for you here today instead of the usual five. I’m just on Instagram less, so things aren’t standing out to me like they normally do. But these two posts stood out to me: one for its heartwarming nature, and the other for the swift kick in the pants I needed cloaked in humor.
And so, without further ado, here are the posts…
What can I say? This is just a great story!
I actually just came across this one today and I was like, ha! If that ain’t me. Even since my book cover designer/illustrator didn’t work out, I’ve been discouraged, and haven’t really put an effort into getting my book published like I once did. I hate that I have to start all over in that search. Plus, I have to edit the work of the editor I hired, who, by the way, I paid a pretty penny — or is that whom? See, look at me. I’ve found so many mistakes. I feel the need to look up damn near every correction she made to see if she even knows what she’s talking about. Sometimes she does, sometimes she doesn’t. It takes me like an hour to go over one page. It’s so tedious. But I think going to stress myself less and let the proofreader handle it, because, yeah, I still have to get a proofreader too.
But I have a bad habit of not finishing what I started, especially when I run into these hiccups as I’ve encountered with this book. But this time, I’m going all the way. I’m going to finish what I’ve started. By the way, that editor’s got me rethinking my grammar. I’m thinking is it finish what I’ve started, or finish what I started. I think it may be the latter, but I’m not sure. But anyway, I’m going to publish this book this year.
And I’ve written so much that I just realized it’s 12;04am so I’ve missed the Wednesday before midnight deadline that I set for myself.
Oh well.
Until next time…
