I’m Coming Back

Just write.

It’s a bit of…or not even a bit of, just a straight up challenge to begin writing here again. I stopped because I was overwhelmed with frustration about many things not going the way that I wanted them to. And I must admit, that Sunday, June 30th, when I purposely neglected my usual last-minute routine of scrambling to write something, anything, to deliver to you sometime before midnight, when I was awake and consciously let midnight roll by without so much as even touching my computer in the hours leading up to it, there was, undoubtedly, a hint of uneasiness the came with letting my readers down without warning – I usually gave a warning when there would be a change in my posting schedule – but mostly I felt relief. One less thing to worry about.

After that, it just spiraled from there. I was going to make it up the following Wednesday but ended up skipping that as well, along with the next Sunday, until I kinda didn’t care anymore. But I do care, that’s why I’m coming back. This is just the best way I can sum up my absence…for now. Soon, I’ll be back with regularly scheduled posts again including updates on all the things left hanging in the balance before I left like what’s going on with my self-publishing journey.  Before those new posts begin, I’ll let you know what date they’ll be starting in the side bar on the right.

So to my cadre of about 40 faithful readers, please, bear with me. If you’re new here, welcome.

To all, stay tuned.

Thanks.

Hello! Welcome to Shirscribe! I know my face doesn't look so welcoming in this photo, it's just that I did those braids myself and I actually like this pic. But I am really happy you're here, so come on in, have a look around, read a post or 50, comment if you'd like and come back soon!

Introducing My Writing Practice!

You know, writing rarely comes easy for me. Most of the time I mull over it forever, then edit it and edit it,  only for it to still be filled with errors, or just not be quite right.

Part of the problem is I’m reaching for that old unattainable perfection. The other part is I need to read and write more.

So this is me, writing more.

In this series, I’m giving myself two hours to write about a topic of my choice nonstop, and 30 minutes to edit it before I post it here, just as it is.  The great sentences and the incoherent ones with spelling and grammatical errors too.  I’m just going to write and see what it will be.

I’ll be posting these writing practices once a week. I’m not sure which day, and maybe no particular day, just one time a week, with no end date as of now.

I can be so insecure about my writing, so I think this will be helpful.

Here’s to writing and getting better at it!

Thanks for reading!

There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells. — Psalm 46:4

Lord, let me be that river.
