Hey Everyone! It’s that time again. That’s right it’s Wednesday Roundup time. Now I know I said I was going to get rid of the themes, or maybe I thought I said that…I don’t know. Anyway, I don’t know if…

My Self-Publishing Journey: Procrastinating

This is going to be quick: Remember how I said I was going to query editors this week? Well, didn’t do it. I was going over track changes corrections, and turns out it took longer than I expected to go…

My Self-Publishing Journey: Letting the Story Go

November 15th has come and gone – the day by which I was supposed to not only have contacted editors about working on my manuscript but also chosen and hired one. I have not. To all the above, I have…

Wednesday Roundup

It’s that time of the week where I gather posts that caught my eye on social media (ahem, Instagram) and share them here with you. I was trying to do themed lists for a minute there, but I come up…

Life Update

I had a-whole-nother topic picked out to write about today, but I didn’t follow through with it, so here we are. I figured it was better to come and write something, than to write nothing – that seems to be…

Hello! Welcome to Shirscribe! I know my face doesn't look so welcoming in this photo, it's just that I did those braids myself and I actually like this pic. But I am really happy you're here, so come on in, have a look around, read a post or 50, comment if you'd like and come back soon!

Introducing My Writing Practice!

You know, writing rarely comes easy for me. Most of the time I mull over it forever, then edit it and edit it,  only for it to still be filled with errors, or just not be quite right.

Part of the problem is I’m reaching for that old unattainable perfection. The other part is I need to read and write more.

So this is me, writing more.

In this series, I’m giving myself two hours to write about a topic of my choice nonstop, and 30 minutes to edit it before I post it here, just as it is.  The great sentences and the incoherent ones with spelling and grammatical errors too.  I’m just going to write and see what it will be.

I’ll be posting these writing practices once a week. I’m not sure which day, and maybe no particular day, just one time a week, with no end date as of now.

I can be so insecure about my writing, so I think this will be helpful.

Here’s to writing and getting better at it!

Thanks for reading!
