I’m Going to Attempt to be Social

Have I told you I have no friends? Well, allow me to reintroduce myself, my name is…well, for now it doesn’t really matter, besides some of you already know. And, yes I have no friends – not a one, zip,…

Wednesday Roundup: Just Because

It’s Wednesday Roundup time again — that time of the week where I gather five social media posts (typically Instagram) that caught my eye. I was trying to come up with a theme for today, but I couldn’t. If there’s…

My Seattle Trip is in the Books

Just got back from Seattle. It was a nice trip overall. I didn’t get to do everything that I wanted to do, but that’s always the case. I ate some good food, some disappointing food. I did some touristy things…

Here’s What’s to Come During This Last Week…

We made it to the final week…or at least the final full week. We’ll still have two back-to-back days together after that before I ghost yo ass. Just kidding! I think I’ll transition to twice a week. I don’t know…we’ll…

Is a wonderful thing to discover, so much so that I’m going to take some time right now and practice it.

Hello! Welcome to Shirscribe! I know my face doesn't look so welcoming in this photo, it's just that I did those braids myself and I actually like this pic. But I am really happy you're here, so come on in, have a look around, read a post or 50, comment if you'd like and come back soon!

Introducing My Writing Practice!

You know, writing rarely comes easy for me. Most of the time I mull over it forever, then edit it and edit it,  only for it to still be filled with errors, or just not be quite right.

Part of the problem is I’m reaching for that old unattainable perfection. The other part is I need to read and write more.

So this is me, writing more.

In this series, I’m giving myself two hours to write about a topic of my choice nonstop, and 30 minutes to edit it before I post it here, just as it is.  The great sentences and the incoherent ones with spelling and grammatical errors too.  I’m just going to write and see what it will be.

I’ll be posting these writing practices once a week. I’m not sure which day, and maybe no particular day, just one time a week, with no end date as of now.

I can be so insecure about my writing, so I think this will be helpful.

Here’s to writing and getting better at it!

Thanks for reading!

There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells. — Psalm 46:4

Lord, let me be that river.
