I’ll Be Back Real Soon

So, I have no idea what to write for tonight, or for tomorrow for that matter. So I’m going to take a break from posting, get organized, get some structure and then come back more prepared. Unless I happen upon…

Need Tips on Starting/Redesigning Your Blog? Don’t Ask Me

I’m redesigning my blog…well, I’m not. I’m going to pay somebody to do it. I don’t know how to redesign a blog, though I designed it how it is now. How do you like it? Well, I guess I didn’t…

My Friday Night had ‘127 Hours’

Just got finished watching the movie 127 Hours. My mother DVR’d it yesterday because she was falling asleep on it. So I replayed it for her today and decided to join her watching it. She, again, fell asleep on it,…

No Money, Mo’ Problems

One of the good things about this quarantine is that it’s harder to spend money frivolously. I mean I guess I could still do it on food – I always have. But I think if none of this coronavirus stuff…

The Perfect Pitch

So I’m going to start pitching again – pitching stories that is, stories you write, eh, I’ll write. Can you tell how nervous this makes me? I haven’t pitched in forever, so forever ago I don’t even remember the last…

Something Better?

This is not what I originally intended to write about but this is what came to mind so this is what you get… The idea’s been on my mind for a while now. It was reintroduced to me not too…

Hello! Welcome to Shirscribe! I know my face doesn't look so welcoming in this photo, it's just that I did those braids myself and I actually like this pic. But I am really happy you're here, so come on in, have a look around, read a post or 50, comment if you'd like and come back soon!

Introducing My Writing Practice!

You know, writing rarely comes easy for me. Most of the time I mull over it forever, then edit it and edit it,  only for it to still be filled with errors, or just not be quite right.

Part of the problem is I’m reaching for that old unattainable perfection. The other part is I need to read and write more.

So this is me, writing more.

In this series, I’m giving myself two hours to write about a topic of my choice nonstop, and 30 minutes to edit it before I post it here, just as it is.  The great sentences and the incoherent ones with spelling and grammatical errors too.  I’m just going to write and see what it will be.

I’ll be posting these writing practices once a week. I’m not sure which day, and maybe no particular day, just one time a week, with no end date as of now.

I can be so insecure about my writing, so I think this will be helpful.

Here’s to writing and getting better at it!

Thanks for reading!

Mood…

There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells. — Psalm 46:4

Lord, let me be that river.
